Greensboro, NC (May 2010) – The Extra Ingredient, a Greensboro, NC kitchen store, coordinated efforts to stock the teaching kitchen of the new Edible Schoolyard that opened at the Greensboro Children’s Museum (GCM) on May 22, 2010. The Edible Schoolyard at GCM is the first of its kind at a museum in the country and the fourth official affiliate of the program created by Alice Waters and The Chez Panisse Foundation.

Herb Garden

The Greensboro Children’s Museum’s Edible Schoolyard includes a half-acre, four-season, organic garden filled with vegetables, herbs, fruits, flowers, a pond, a chicken coup, outdoor classrooms and a teaching kitchen where children and families can create recipes, cook food and share meals and conversation together. Visitors to the Edible Schoolyard will learn about the relationship among food, nature and life through organic gardening (planting, growing, harvesting), preparing and cooking organic food simply and nutritiously. The Edible Schoolyard program will become a model for other children’s museums nationwide promoting health and wellness.

New Castle, DE – 2008 –
Cuisipro adds a Sauce Ladle and a Potato Masher to its Fiberglass and Nylon tool collection. Fiberglass is blended with nylon to make strong, high heat tolerant and nonstick tools.

The fiberglass gives rigidity and strength to these 13inch and 14inch long tools making them durable enough for heavy-duty commercial use. Fiberglass not only adds rigidity to the structure of the tools but also makes the tools high heat tolerant, to 455 degrees F, so the tools don’t melt or get damaged while cooking. The nylon gives the tools their nonstick quality so they won’t scratch or mar nonstick pans and so they are easy to clean.

The tools are both elegant and high performing. The basic black tools feature a cherry red handle tip on the ladle and a full cherry red handle on the masher. The red tip on the ladle is more than just an accent color, it doubles as a non-slip feature that extends partially down the back of the handle to help prevent the ladle from sliding down into a pot. The red grip finishes at the end of the handle with a hole for hanging. The new sauce ladle features a shallow bowl with pouring corners and a long handle for deep pots. The strong potato masher features a non-slip sturdy handle.

This collection also includes: a Serving Ladle, a Turner, a Wide Turner, a Basting Spoon, a Slotted Spoon, a Large Perforated Turner and a Pasta Claw. The kitchen tools are dishwasher safe and are backed by a 25-year warranty. The new Small Sauce Ladle retails for $8. The new Potato Masher retails for $12.
New Castle, DE – 2008 – Cuisipro’s Compact Jar Opener makes opening jars easy, even for the smallest of hands. The new tool fits onto jars ranging from little pickle jars or water bottles to large pasta sauce jars. A gentle twist with one hand is all it takes and lids loosen. One hand turns the lid; the other is free to hold the jar. The tool then snaps closed for safe, compact storage and pops open with a push of a side button. Unlike most jar openers, this tool takes up very little space and can be transported for picnics and outdoor gatherings.

The Compact Jar Opener joins the Cuisipro collection of kitchen tools — tools that feature ergonomic, textured nylon handles that are comfortable to hold and easy to use regardless of a cook’s hand size. Each tool has been designed for a specific task, offering optimal precision and performance. Cuisipro’s kitchen tools are dishwasher safe, and covered by a 25-year warranty. The Compact Jar Opener retails for $15. For additional information, contact Cuisipro.

Cuisipro, a division of Browne & Company, is passionate about bringing the latest in innovation and design directly to consumers. According to Tara Steffen, National sales and manager for Cuisipro USA, “The key to Cuisipro’s success is understanding that a great product is more than just a good design – it must be functional. With more then 250 products in their exclusive collection, Cuisipro offers something for every cook – novice to professional.”
