Mauviel’s Easy Caramel Sauce

Making caramel shouldn’t be intimidating, but it can be due to sugar being very temperamental. There are so many different methods to making the perfect gooey caramel, but the recipe below will yield fantastic results every time.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 scraped out vanilla bean or 1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 pinches kosher salt


In your Mauviel Sugar Saucepan combine all ingredients. Over medium low heat, cook while whisking gently for 7-8 minutes;
it will thicken. Turn the heat off and serve over desired dessert.
