Emile Henry Pizza Stone

The Emile Henry Pizza Stone was named the “It” wedding gift by the Des Moines Sunday Register.  Read the full story….

“Tis the season to tie the knot, and to find out what’s new in wedding gifts, so I called Teresa Adams-Tomka, owner of the Kitchen Collage housewares store in  Des Moines.  She especially recommends the Emile  Henry Pizza Stone, which debuted just last year.

Made in Burgundy, France, of flameproof ceramic, the 14-inch stone can be used on the grill and in the oven.  It heats in 15-minutes, and the heat from the stone absorbs the moisture from the crust for an evenly cooked pie.

Adams-Tomka also says the stone is pretty enough to double as a cheese platter.  Suggested retail price:  $50.”

Couldn’t agree more…I own TWO! We even use ours on the dining room table occasionally as a trivet for large hot dishes it’s so stylish looking!

Thanks for the information regarding how long it takes to heat this stone.( 15 Minutes) No directions came with it so I was searching pizza stone recipes and they all said 40-60 minutes pre-heating.That seemed like a long time. We want to use in on our outdoor gas grill. Any comment on using it that way?
We have never used the “peel” but own one. Any suggestions in how to manage getting the pizza on and off the stone?
Thank you very much.
